Assignment: Up to 60 hours during the months of July and August 2022

Under the supervision of the Science Resources Center Manager and Elementary Instruction and Curriculum Specialist, this person prepares, maintains, and transports science kits, including the organization of supplies and materials for the Science Resources Center.

Candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must have good organizational skills with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email, and other technologies is essential. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.

Other duties as assigned:

• Construct, inventory, organize and maintain materials for science “kits”
• Check in, inventory, prepare, package, label and shelve items for kits
• Unpack, inventory and refurbish kits
• Good telephone skills
• Work collaboratively with the Science Resources Center staff on units
• Prepare workshop materials
• Respond to and assist teachers with needs related to kits
• Participate in MPS driving and safety course, pass the driving test and assist with driving the SRC truck as a regular duty. Must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Good health and able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Science Resources Center Manager and Elementary Instruction and Curriculum Specialist.
• Pre-placement physical with back assessment required
