In collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN), provides safe, quality care for patients/residents according to individualized care plan that supports patient/resident outcomes. Treats all patients/residents with dignity and respect. Know, follow and maintain resident rights. Assists with over sight of non-clinical and support staff personnel.
Responsibilities
(20%)*Assesses patient health care needs, nursing care requirements and the delivery of nursing care for all assigned patient, recognizing the specific individual needs of the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient.
(20%)*Plans and prioritizes care required to meet assigned patients' health care needs.
(20%)*Implementsnursing actions in accordance with established standards of nursing practice and established policy.
(20%)*Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care to ensure responsible and appropriate care is rendered to patients.
(20%)* Self-Management: Holds self accountable for delivery of responsible nursing care, demonstrates effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Assumes responsibility for own continued development and

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS:
Operates equipment as outlined on orientation checklists, policy and procedures. Participates in equipment in - services and competencies as they relate to role expectations.
Performs job skills outlined on orientation checklist as they relate to role expectations.
At least one year experience in rehabilitation nursing or acceptable related training and experience is preferred (such as experience working with conditions including neuromuscular and orthopedic).
Demonstrates knowledge in r ehabilitation nursing by completion of rehabilitation training modules as appropriate. Must pass lift test.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level:Medium. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 21-50 lbs., frequently 34-66% of the workday 20 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% or the workday) 10 lbs.
