What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Coordinator position at Midway Golf Games Events & 44 Tavern?
General Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing and executing various events hosted at Midway Golf, ensuring all aspects of the event are well-coordinated and delivered smoothly.
- Coordinate with internal departments, such as golf course operations, food and beverage, maintenance, and marketing, to ensure seamless event execution.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to provide excellent in-house catering, including setting up and taking down buffets and assisting service staff as needed
- Oversee event logistics, including event setup, signage, audiovisual requirements, and any other necessary arrangements.
- Provide on-site event management and coordinate with other event staff to ensure that all elements of the event run smoothly and according to plan from start to finish.
- Train event staff on proper event procedures such as food handling, setup, clean up, and customer service
- Draft detailed event proposals, including budgets, timelines, and logistical plans, and present them to Events Manager for approval.
- Receive and process event payments in a timely and organized manner
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback from clients and attendees and make recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in developing innovative ideas to enhance event engagement and client relationships
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in event coordination and apply them to enhance the event experience at Midway Golf.
Requirements and Skills:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Proven experience in event coordination or planning preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, experience with Canva is preferred.
- Food Handler’s License or willingness to go through training at a later date
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds, bend, stand/sit for long periods of time, and going up and down stairs
