Job Description Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production team members working in a fast-paced and safe environment. Supervisor must ensure employees are inspecting, cutting, washing and packaging products properly according to company procedures and standards. This position reports to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Direct, coordinate and plan facility daily activities to ensure production goals are met in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure standards of product quality, allergens, equipment and performance are maintained in order to maximize production.
- Make recommendations to upper management about service/purchase of equipment as needed.
- Work together with Plant supervisors and leads to maintain a positive and respectful work environment.
- Handle vacation approval, scheduling, training and grievances process.
- Work with Human Resources to hire, train, and appraise staff effectively.
- Take corrective action as necessary in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
- Assist in external auditing SQF-Safe Quality Food requirements including various customer / 3rd party audit expectations.
- Perform various other job functions as assigned, like inventory and code management.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience working in Food Manufacturing and Production
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA Food and safety regulations and labeling knowledge
- Knowledge of all of Microsoft Office including Excel preferred
- Flexible to work different shifts
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to work in cold environment (32-37°F)
