Description
A municipal focused fixed-income trader responsible for executing trades on behalf of both the firm and institutional and retail clients. The fixed-income trader draws from knowledge on specific markets (municipal) to develop a trading strategy that responds to trends in the current market and customer demand to enact trades.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Expert application of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques, including executing trades and tracking capital usage and P&L
- Provide insights and ideas to sales staff
- Using trading systems and related tools to transact and provide market color
- Deliver client service excellence directly as well as through others, anticipating service needs to drive results
- Drive operational excellence initiatives to align with the firm's vision
- Leverage the depth and breadth of internal and external networks to foster broader results
Competencies:
- To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, TMC (The Muni Center), MarketAxess, Ipreo, Munibrokers, and other financial and database systems.
- Extensive knowledge of fixed income, banking/brokerage, and macroeconomic principles.
- Extensive knowledge of the municipal fixed income market.
- Knowledge of fixed income portfolio management principles, bond accounting, stress testing – specifically as it applies to the municipal fixed income market.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position.
- Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flexible work schedules may be allowed when it is feasible, if it allows the employee to perform the essential functions of the job and will in no way interfere with providing efficient and effective services.
Time Requirements & Travel:
- Almost all in the office, some travel opportunities for conferences etc.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Series 7 and 63 required (Series 52 required if Series 7 license obtained after 2011)
- B.A./B.S. degree in business, economics, finance, or quantitative related field
- 5 years of municipal fixed income trading experience
- Expert knowledge of capital markets analytics, trading strategies, and risk management techniques
- Expert knowledge of internal and external trading systems and related tools, including, but not limited to, Bloomberg, TMC (The Muni Center), MarketAxess, Ipreo, Munibrokers, S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MBA, CFA, CFP, CPA, Series 7, 63, 52, 53, 24, 65, and/or 66 License(s).
