As a Corporate Service Support Manager you will be responsible for directing and controlling service operations for the assigned region to maximize return on investment through service sales growth and the effective management of labor, staffing and budgets. Retains, develops and effectively engages department personnel. Consistently exhibits Midwest Machinery Company’s core values of Commitment, Passion, Progressiveness, Integrity, and Value Delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Provides hands-on technical and managerial support to Service Managers and assists them in effectively managing their business
- Provides fill-in support for Service Manager vacations and for staffing vacancies
- Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for Service Managers
- Manages on-boarding and training for new Service Managers
- Works with underperforming service departments to develop and execute improvement plan
- Assists Service Managers by providing hands-on technical support for service technicians when needed
- Works with TCSM on special allowances for assigned area
- Assists Service Managers in recruiting new technicians
- Assists Service Managers and Location Managers to resolve personnel issues
- Works with Service Managers to develop technical training plans
- Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Service Department efficiencies
- Monitors individual and overall Service Department performance relative to labor sales and expense control in line with the organization’s objectives
- Develops and implements the Service Department employee compensation plans
- Creates and facilitates the execution of service advertising, marketing and promotional programs to grow service sales for the organization as a whole
- Creates monthly Service Department goals and budget for the assigned region, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Facilitates the organization’s Customer Satisfaction Program to enhance and maintain customer relationships relative to service support
- Attends to, and resolves, employee and inter-departmental issues in a fair and expedient manner
- Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in managing Service Department operations
- Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group
- Excellent understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
- Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
- Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Basic business knowledge and math skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:
- Frequent travel between locations; some out-of-state travel required
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
- Must pass a pre-employment background study
