Position Summary:
The position of Creative Director will serve as an authority on creative execution in support of Midwest Tape and hoopla strategies. The role involves the ability to lead and direct the creative team within the Marketing department in successful brainstorming sessions, idea generation, and in the design, development and deployment of key physical and digital support materials. This position involves cross-functional interaction with key stakeholder groups within the marketing, sales, purchasing, analytics, product management and product development departments to align on key business initiatives and develop key strategies and the supporting creative briefs. Additionally, will provide key creative feedback while guiding the team in the development and measurement if key performance indicators of supporting tactics. Prepares and gives presentations to management on matters concerning creative development and deployment. Provides training and shares experiences from various projects with the internal marketing teams.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the customer, patron, vendor and marketing teams to gather insight into proposed projects and creative briefs.
  • Be the Creative visionary for Marketing and the company, leading projects from a strategic perspective.
  • Ideate, develop and deploy creative concepts and strategies in the form of executable projects and oversee team workflow to completion.
  • Coordinate and direct a team of graphic designers, production artists, copywriters and proofreaders in the execution of creative endeavors. Oversee agency and third party creative vendor partnerships.
  • Provide critical feedback to the creative team on the development of concepts and deliverables that support key company initiatives.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in the evolution of the Midwest Tape and hoopla Digital brands and oversee the development of key message fulfillment during this journey.
  • Develop and grow key account relationships within the printing and fulfillment sectors of the business.
  • Assist with the development of estimates for proposed project work.
  • Assist and attend to pre-press related work along with anticipated press checks and in line fulfillment.
  • Interface with a variety of management levels on significant strategy and creative matters, often requiring the coordination of activities across multiple marketing teams.
  • Lead the development of the Creative team by facilitating training and providing guidance and feedback.
  • Plan and organize project assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
  • Initiate, maintain and approve projects milestones.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

  • Proven experience as a creative director, or art director.
  • Hands-on experience in the creative process with specific attention to graphic design, production art, critique and feedback as a bridge between creative and account mindsets and brand development and brand positioning.
  • Strong knowledge of creative software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Braze, Branch, Excel, Tableau, and Salesforce.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers, and subject matter experts).
  • Flexible and well-organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a larger team.

Preferred Education Requirements
:

  • Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Marketing/Advertising, Fine Art, Design, related field; Master of Science or Master of Art will be considered an asset.

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of eight to ten years related work experience.
