What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Assembler 2nd shift position at Milacron Plastics?

Shift 2 (United States of America)

Position Summary:

Build machines, equipment and their subassemblies and follow the Mechanical layout and the general assembly layouts and other written and verbal specifications.

Work You'll Do:

  • Read, comprehend, and interpret hydraulic & mechanical drawings
  • Set the department / area standards in housekeeping, attendance, and teamwork by example.
  • Perform hyd/mech assembly operations.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Recognize problems with hyd/mech assemblies and parts, take appropriate corrective action to resolve them.
  • Recommend improvements for work area, products, and processes.
  • Perform prototype work with limited Engineering and minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
