Job title: Unit Coordinator
Schedule: Part Time 2, 30 hrs/pay period, 9:00am-5:30pm
Weekend rotation: every other weekend
Holiday rotation: every other holiday
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the professional nurse, performs a variety of clerical duties associated with patient/residents care unit operations.
Position Responsibilities:

Communicates with members of the health care team, patients/residents, and visitors using oral and written means and equipment such as the telephone and intercom.

Maintains confidentiality of patient information.

Stamps, assembles, completes, and processes patients'/resident's charts as indicated.

Keeps patient/residents records accurately identified.
-
Maintains an accurate clinical record, recording information per policy.

Prepares and maintains patient/resident charts.
-
Checks charts daily for incomplete histories and operative summaries and brings same to the attention of the appropriate member of the health care team for correction.

Checks charts and removes nonpermanent reports when permanent reports are obtained.

Prepares special forms as needed.

Sends emails on patient/residents admission, discharge, and transfer, etc.

Assists with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit. Prepares requisitions and reports for maintenance repairs.

Maintains accurate time and work schedule.

Completes requests for nonmedical services, as needed.

Responsible for initiating order in computer for lab and X-rays.

Maintains an orderly and businesslike environment at the nursing station in order to assist members of the health care team in the performance of their jobs despite high-stress factors.

Answer telephones and direct calls/relay messages.

Directs visitors as needed.

Assists in admissions, transfers, room changes, and clerical duties, as needed.

Maintains good attendance record.

Follows Now Pass Zone Protocol.

Other duties as delegated by DON/administrator.
Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills:
Excellent typing and personal computer skills.
Good oral and written communication.
Excellent organization skills.
