CAREGIVERS FOR SPECIAL NEEDS KIDS - Summer Respite Program

Temporary to Permanent Position with Milestone/Elite's Summer Program (June 10-July 26):

• MUST be available Monday-Friday starting June 10-July 24th from 11:30am-4pm
• MUST have experience with behavioral children teens.
• MUST have own transportation to get to the Mesa school. This is a Part-Time position (10-20 hours a week).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Provide respite services at a Autism School in Mesa where they will be providing a Summer Program. This allows parents to have a break to attend appointments, run errands, or go on day date after they attend the summer program from the Autism School.
• Provide outings in the community within the school to teach independent living & communication skills (i.e. turn taking, following instructions, preparing meals, etc.) as well as physical & social skills (i.e. water games, playing sports, etc.).
• Willingness to work with the special needs population is an essential role.
• Provide companionship & friendship for children/adolescence with special needs.

QUALITIES OF A CAREGIVER:

• Compassionate, Caring, Mature, Flexible, Communicative, Honest, Trustworthy, & Diligent
• Must have a clean Criminal/Background check as required from Division of Developmental Disabilities (state funded program)
• Must have or be willing to obtain the following: Fingerprint Clearance Card, Article 9, CPR First Aid Certifications (VIRTUAL TRAINING).
• MUST be available Monday-Friday starting June 10-July 24th from 11:30am-4pm
