Position: World Language Teacher - Portuguese/French
Location: Milford High School
Schedule:2024-2025 School Year
Salary: Per Teachers Contract
To Start: August 26, 2024 (plus 2 days of mentoring prior to start date on 8/20-8/21)
Qualifications:
●Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher License Certified Grades 9-12 in Portuguese and/or French
●SEI Endorsement required
●Expertise with the current Massachusetts Curriculum frameworks for world language;
●Effective teaching skills, an enthusiasm for learning and a desire to maximize the learning potential for all students enrolled in world language;
●The ability to plan and successfully implement a variety of strategies to engage a population of diverse learners including the use of research-based instructional strategies, technology, and interactive learning,
●Ability to effectively collaborate with other members of the department and across disciplines;
●Successfully employ classroom management strategies;
●A positive person, willing to become involved in the academic and social aspects of school life to support student success, school spirit, and school climate and culture;
●A self-reflective, active learner capable of interactive dialogue with all members of the school community;
Responsibilities:
●Ability to use formative and summative assessment consistently to assess student progress and adapt instruction appropriately based on individual need;
●Assess strengths and needs of students and communicate assessment results with Curriculum Team Leader, teachers, guidance counselors, parents and administration;
●Work collaboratively with Administration, Curriculum Team Leader, World Language, Special Education, and English Learner departments;
●Strong knowledge of differentiating instruction and personalized learning;
●Consistently use 21st Century technology skills to support all facets of instruction and student success;
●Current with research and instructional strategies for high school teaching and learning;
●High energy, motivated, organized, self-directed individuals preferred;
●Consistently embed self in school culture to support the academic achievement and growth of all students;
●Responsible for all aspects of the classroom
