Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assembles building parts on a production table or automated line for Truss and WallsPerform other duties and responsibilities as required and assignedProcesses includes insertion or positioning of materials by nailing, screwing, cutting components and metal plates to size using a combination of hand tools, air powered and automated equipmentMeasures product or length of boards by marks on sorting table or with measuring tapeEnsures assembled components meet established quality standardsRotate through all the tasks required in a particular production processLift and handle dimensional lumber of varying sizes and lengthsLoads / stacks finished materials on carts and / or palletsUnderstands and observes all safety procedures & practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workersPerform other duties and responsibilities as required and assignedEducation / ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDTape measure experiencePrevious experience in construction, framing, truss assembly desirable with a variety of hand (hammer) and power tools (nail gun / saw)Other RequirementsMust pass pre-employment drug screen and physicalWork morning / evening hours during week and required weekends and overtimeMaintenance of regular attendanceKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent Verbal & Written CommunicationBasic math & measurement skillsComprehend and follow instructions communicated in written, oral and diagram formAbility to concentrate and attend to detail amidst busy work environmentAbility to work as an individual and as a team to meet productions goalsWilling to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing educationWorking Conditions and Physical RequirementsWork is in a warehouse setting and performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dustHave clear, close vision for reading and computer work, measurements, assembly of parts and visual acuity to operate power toolsRepetitive motion of the wrists, hands and or fingersMay require reaching at or above shoulder level and below waist Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift / carry up to 64 lbs.
