Spanish Teacher (World Language) (Grades 7-12)

DESCRIPTION: Millbury Memorial Junior-Senior High School is seeking a dynamic Spanish teacher possessing a Massachusetts Foreign Language (grades 5-12) license and familiarity with the DESE World Language Frameworks. This role entails crafting an engaging curriculum tailored for secondary-level students aimed at fostering high levels of linguistic and cultural proficiency in Spanish. The ideal candidate will empower students to not only communicate effectively but also to comprehend diverse cultural narratives, actively engage with their communities, and become globally competent individuals proficient in multiple languages and cultures. GENERAL DUTIES: Provide multiple instructional and engagement strategies in a classroom environment that focus on the importance of linguistic competence and cultural proficiency Function as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team Analyze individual student data and use that information to develop measurable goals, objectives, and corresponding lessons/units Develop curriculum that is standards-based, rooted in fundamentals, vertically aligned, incorporates 21st Century Learning Skills, and provides students with inquiry-based learning opportunities. Apply appropriate knowledge to curriculum content/instruction, plan lessons, and align assessment of student learning while monitoring students' understanding of the curriculum and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments, using data-driven techniques as appropriate Participate in related school meetings, which are held for the purpose of improving both curricula and extracurricular activities Collaborate with the various school-based departments to support and address student needs Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress.
