Business Title: SQL Server Developer
Work Place: It is remote in the beginning but may change to hybrid later.
Summary: Developer will work closely with Data Warehouse Manager and research analysts to design and develop processes to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data between systems using SQL Server Integration Services, stored procedures, and functions. Exciting opportunity to work with the Center for Education Policy Research (CEPR) at Harvard University on its Proving Ground and NCRERN projects, which ingests and integrates educational data from external sources in CEPR data warehousing environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services, stored procedures, and functions
• Analyze and resolve performance issues
• Schedule and monitor ETL Jobs; prompt troubleshooting
• Create and maintain documentation related to ETL processes and database procedures
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other related fields
• 3-6 years experience in development of Microsoft SQL server 2012/2014
• Strong aptitude in writing SQL code and debugging (stored procedures and functions)
• T-SQL and MS SQL SSIS and SSRS development experience
• Performance tuning and query optimization experience
• Experience with Change Control
• Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills
Additional Qualifications
• Prior development experience in data warehousing environment
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving database problems
