General Purpose:
Leads a team of North America and India-based visualization designers in creating strategic, high-quality renderings and 3D visualization deliverables to win contract business. Provides and oversees visualization support to deliver cohesive customer experiences that elevate and differentiate the MillerKnoll offer. Responsible for establishing vision, strategy and goals for the Visualization Design Studio team. Plays a key role in in the development of deliverable standards that encourage creative, innovative visualization approaches and storytelling to deliver dynamic solutions for clients, while implementing, promoting and maintaining the integrity of the MillerKnoll brand (including MillerKnoll's legacy and full collective of brands).
Essential Functions:
- Works with Global Field Marketing leadership to establish strategic priorities for sales support and customer projects to ensure efficient and effective management of design resources in North America and India. Continuously evaluates intake and related processes for efficacy, adapting as needed to achieve greatest ease of engagement with Field teams.
- Serves as primary point of contact for the visualization team within Global Field Marketing; serves as liaison to sales leadership, sales, dealer and external/internal business partners; manages/oversees project intake and staffing process, including managing preferred external rendering resources when necessary.
- Works collaboratively with Field teams to analyze business needs and unique opportunities to recommend innovative and superior visualization solutions for tailored, effective communication of sales stories and MillerKnoll solutions.
- Partners with Field Marketing Creative Strategy for art direction and development of visualization standards, and helps facilitate knowledge-sharing amongst teams. Oversees team output for quality control to ensure deliverables comply with brand standards and meet client expectations. Develops best practices and procedures to ensure highest quality and consistent work product across multiple media formats.
- Leads and drives development/building of visualization utility Data Asset Management (DAM) database for visualization assets, working closely with adjacent teams, modelers and texture artists.
- Oversees project tracking, team metrics, reporting, analytics, KPIs and success measures; contributes to Global Field Marketing reporting efforts, developing and updating data as required.
- Fosters culture of continuous improvement, exploring ways to enhance and elevate customer engagements and experiences, and evolving team capabilities with latest R&D technology advancements in software, hardware, deliverables and processes. Supports Associate growth and development, building a team where designers can grow, learn and do their best work in a collaborative environment.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Animation or Design- related discipline from an accredited program or an equivalent level of experience or combined education with an emphasis on 3D rendering and visualization.
- 7 years professional experience managing, developing and/or implementing visualization, publication, multimedia design deliverables, projects and programs. Global project leadership experience preferred.
- 4 years of experience of leadership experience, demonstrating a proven track record of leadership success and team development.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership and people management skills, including experience in a managerial role leading visualization teams, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven ability to lead, influence, solve problems, and work with all levels in an organization, including executive leadership.
- Knowledge of and experience with 3D visualization, rendering, animation, multimedia design, photographic/illustrative and computer-aided design processes and affiliated software/tools (i.e., 3D Studio MAX, VRay, Adobe Photoshop/ Premiere/Encore/Flash, AutoCAD, Revit, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, Yulio, SketchUp, Vantage, CET, etc.)
- Significant knowledge of rendering and animation processes and activities.
- Knowledge of architecture and interior design.
- Broad understanding of current and emerging design, marketing and technology trends.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, including writing, presenting, listening, and interpersonal coaching and mentoring.
- Proven project management skills, including ability to manage multiple complex projects efficiently.
- Established competencies including strong business acumen, systemic and strategic thinking, coaching skills, planning skills, organizational skills and ability to be resourceful and timely in completing work assignments.
- Established ability to exercise reasoned, independent judgment and sound decision making.
- Ability to travel as necessary to achieve business objectives.
