The Boston Life practice of Milliman is looking for motivated applicants for an actuarial analyst position in Wakefield, MA. We are a small consulting group of actuaries with life and annuity with expertise in financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions, pricing and beyond. We are looking for a critical thinker who possesses strong communication and organization skills; and is committed to the actuarial exam process. RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate will support consultants in a technical role through the following types of projects:
- Financial reporting, such as valuation support and methodology reviews
- Financial modeling using Integrate actuarial software and other programs used for forecasting/business planning, pricing, etc.
- Mergers and acquisitions. Work may involve analyzing results and due diligence support.
- Product development such as product pricing
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics or other quantitative field
- Minimum 2 actuarial exams
- Pursuing ASA/FSA designation from the Society of Actuaries
EXPERIENCE / SKILLSET
- Prior experience in the life and annuity insurance industry is preferred
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Excel and VBA macros
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing work and meeting deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
COMPENSATION
Actuarial analysts are offered a competitive salary of $75,000-$94,000 depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition, for our permanent employees, we offer a significant performance-based bonus plan, profit sharing, competitive benefits, and an actuarial student study program. The person hired for this role will be required to work on-site in the Boston office located in Wakefield, MA three days per week, however, flexible work arrangements can be discussed.
