Your Role:
At MilliporeSigma, the Project Manager is responsible for project management of work executed by the Process Development (PD) team. The PD team is responsible for development of new and custom products, technology/product transfer, and optimization/troubleshooting of existing manufacturing and QC methods. This position works cross-functionally with Operations, PD, and Product Management to efficiently guide projects through the development phase from initiation to transfer to Operations.
- Document project requirements according to approved global PDP, local site PD, and technical transfer procedures.
- Manage PD team’s timely completion of required documentation throughout the development phase and complete documents for project initiation and closing
- Communicate project needs, schedules and status through leadership of team meetings, documentation of key decisions and issues, maintenance of metrics, and elevation of issues
- Act as a liaison between the development requestor, PD, and the receiving teams in Operations
- Facilitate documentation and system setup required for or resulting from PD projects. This may include initiation of material master data change requests, writing and reviewing operations documents, and raw material or intermediate product number setup
- Aid in identifying strategic development targets according to management guidelines in order to meet departmental PD goals and facilitate financial justification for project prioritization
Who You Are:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or other scientific field
- 3 years of working experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of work experience in Project Management
- Project Management training and/or certification
- Experience in a project management or management role
- Proven and demonstrated proficiency in planning and scheduling, problem solving, project management, time management, prioritization and decision-making
- Technical knowledge in Life Science as it relates to production, analytical methodologies, and packaging
- Familiarity with design control and transfer of products into operations from R&D or an external customer
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to collaborate with Operations’ departments, external customers, and worldwide internal business partners
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and manufacturing equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot issues using FMEA and/or Root cause analysis procedures and apply Process Improvement methodology
- Experience with project management software (E.G. Microsoft Project) as well as software required by Operations teams (E.G. QUMAS, ManGo, Trackwise)
