Operations Manager

Growing children’s brand, Milton & Goose, recently established a new manufacturing facility in Connecticut and is seeking a highly motivated operations manager to oversee the facility and play an integral role in establishing and implementing guidelines, providing strategic operations direction, and attracting new talent to join our skilled team. Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree preferred; 4-7 years related experience/training in a manufacturing environment
· Strong knowledge of woodworking preferred
· Excellent leadership and motivational skills
· Creative thinker and problem solver
· Computer and systems proficiency
· Strong written & verbal communication skills
· Attention to detail
· Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
· This role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs
Responsibilities
· Drive continuous improvement of process and people through Lean manufacturing methods to ensure cost-efficient, timely, and quality production of toys and children’s furniture
· Assess and communicate manufacturing capacities and inventory levels
· Oversee facility and systems maintenance
· Handle purchasing of job supplies, raw goods (i.e. wood, hardware, paint), and new/improved machinery, and work closely with leadership and accounting to forecast budget requirements for production needs
· Ensure safe work environment through compliance with all health and OSHA safety standards, as well as company policies
· Collaborate with woodworkers to create prototypes and develop process standards for new product lines
· Liaise and communicate regularly with leadership and fulfillment team regarding production status
· Brainstorm creative solutions to manufacturing issues that arise
· Attract new talent and oversee the onboarding process (new account set-up in payroll & timekeeping management system, paperwork, and training)
· HR duties, including but not limited to approving time cards, time-off requests, and schedule changes
· Lead and motivate team through morale-building, regular meetings/reviews with associates to ensure feedback is heard and addressed, and clear communication around procedures and goals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
