Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Interpret simulation plans in order to install and configure hardware and software in a TCP/IP network environment on systems running Microsoft Windows and RedHat Linux operating systems.
• Provides local and distributed live, virtual, constructive simulation and gaming training support incorporating live (HITS), virtual (AVCATT, RVTT/RVS/CCTT), and games for training (VBS3) training devices supporting the Integrated Training Environment (ITE).
• Shall be proficient with current and future versions of simulation operating software and hardware fielded to the Mission Training Complex.
Qualification Requirements
• Experience in the configuration and operation of RedHat Enterprise Linux (versions 6 & above) workstation and server and Microsoft Windows (10 & higher) workstation and server operating systems in a TCP/IP network environment. Emphasis on Linux setup and operations.
• Excellent oral and writing communication skills. Ability to communicate technical requirements and exercise preparation issues.
• US Government Security Clearance required.
• Must be a disciplined worker capable of meeting short suspense.
• Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be in excess of 40 hours per week.
• Security certification or able to obtain within 180 days from hire.
• Ability to install software, manage user accounts, construct communication files, conduct and archive backup files, conduct recovery, maintain a technical library, secure operation and storage of encryption devices and tuning system parameters for optimal functions.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, supporting the setup, testing, documentation, and use of distributed simulations in support of training events, mission rehearsals, or experiments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) set-up and use.
• Demonstrated experience with communication protocols to include CTIA, DIS and HLA.
• Demonstrated experience with simulation data modeling and database requirements.
Ability to prepare and deliver technical and non-technical briefings to mid and upper level leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in the configuration and operation of JLCCTC hardware & software.
• Certification in Linux OS such as ComTIA Linux , Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator or Redhat Certified Systems Administrator is a plus.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate certification in Windows 10 and/or Server 2012 is a plus.
• Current MCTS Windows 7, MCITP Windows 7, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Linux or other acceptable Computing Environment certification IAW 8570.01-m.
