Position Title: Bartender
Job: Part time
Supervisor: F&B Manager
General Purpose: To efficiently and properly serve beverages at events ensuring maximum satisfaction is maintained to every guest.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service - engage with event guests creating a positive experience while maintaining a friendly, helpful attitude. Ensure highest standards of quality and prompt service.
- Ability to take, enter and serve orders accurately.
- Ability to handle a high amount of customers each shift, when applicable, banquet bartenders collect payments from customers, process credit card transactions and accurately manage cash transactions.
- Follow Safe Alcohol Service Standards – keep an eye out for potentially unsafe situations and ensure no alcohol is consumed by minors. Bartenders are to check IDs and respond appropriately when guests violate state laws and regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of Milwaukee Art Museum venue and event information to include but not limited to menus, beverage selections, and event service timing.
- Set example of professional behavior, cooperation, and responsibility at every shift.
- Maintain bar area – ensure proper set up of bars as directed by MAM leads to include stocking all beverages, wiping surfaces, ensuring all products, and cups/glassware are readily accessible and available for use during an event.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalency. Must be 18 years old, and have or ability to obtain City or Milwaukee Bartenders License within 30 days. Previous guest service experience preferred.
- Ethical, honest, accountable and punctual.
- Ability to multitask, work with minimal supervision, and exercise initiative.
- Ability to maintain service standards.
- Ability to do basic math.
- Ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must reach, bend, walk and stand during entire shift.
Temperament
Excellent interpersonal skills, systematic, meticulous, patient, self-starter and works well under pressure. Manages time efficiently, analyzes and solves problems independently and if necessary, collaboratively. Ability to be flexible and embrace changes within this position due to departmental priorities. Ability to work with a wide variety of people to achieve the goals of the Museum.
