Job Summary
River Trail K-8 School is actively recruiting candidates for a Climate Specialist position.
As a Climate Specialist at River Trail, you will be at the center of this work— coaching teachers and driving decisions that will benefit the students. Here, you will be the driver of high-quality coaching instruction that enables teachers to develop and deliver strong practices around behavior and classroom culture and to instill a lifelong love of learning.
Salary range starts at $46,144 and increases based on education and licensed teaching experience.

At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and official transcripts conferring his/her bachelor's degree and master’s degree, if applicable.
Qualifications
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be currently licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to teach this specific grade level and/or content area or have the ability to obtain the required license by the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Responsibilities
- Ensures the consistent and fair administration of school policies regarding student conduct and discipline
- Creates proactive family communication plans and student celebrations
- Models strong staff and student culture
- Collaborates with Leadership Team to create and present formal reports on school culture, safety, and school operations
- Collaborates with culture team to organize celebrations (PBIS)
- Collaborates with culture team and Leadership Team to review and monitor school culture data
- Supervises entry (play list for music), lunch, dismissal, and transitions
- Prepares weekly behavior reports
- Completes all behavior paperwork in IC for grades K4-5
- Facilitates re-entry meetings after behavior infraction or suspension
- Assists with classroom removals, bathroom escorts, and early dismissal escorts
- Promptly informs parents/guardians of disciplinary status; meets with parents/guardians as necessary to develop a plan for success
- Assists parents/guardians with any disciplinary concerns
- Collaborates with school social worker and special education teachers to execute individualized behavior intervention plans when needed
- Assist students in discovering the root cause of their behaviors and help them to develop tools to prevent similar occurrences in the future- Restorative Practices.
- Leads/Plans weekly assemblies to build school culture
- Assist staff in order to enforce all school-wide behavior management and reward systems, and coordinate regularly with the Principal to ensure these systems are in place
- Collaborates closely with Leadership Team, Social Worker, and Case Manager
- Leads Mindfulness initiatives
- All other duties assigned
