Job Description
Position Summary: Assist/support the Quality Supervisors/Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve Quality issues within the production operation. Ensure that the product meets customer’s requirements (both internal and external) at each stage of its manufacturing process, carrying out relevant testing and where necessary take corrective action to rectify non-conformance issues. Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.

Report quality issues data, ensuring the Quality Management System is adhered to at all stages.
Duties And Responsibilities
Floor Auditing Task:
- Accomplish in-process inspection of parts, and incoming material from the vendors
- Participate in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives to reduce process variation and prevent process and product nonconformities
- Measure and analyze key quality performance data; make recommendations to department on specific opportunities to improve quality
- Take initiative and responsibility for needed actions to support quality and business goals
- Help to maintain quality information records
- Must work effectively in team environments, communicating and participating in a constructive manner.
- Provide Quality support through quality tools to aid in quality assurance of mfg. processes
- Must be able to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
- Identify and isolate product that does not meet standards. Assist with Sorting on hold products
- Follow all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by the department
- Knowledgeable to work with the Lab Request System
- Support lab inspections in carbide metallurgy lab, heat treat lab and hole saw lab
- Collect samples from in process production and perform cutting, grinding, puck preparing, polishing, image capturing and scoring the images as per standard
- Use of microscope for inspection of workmanship defects
- Must be knowledgeable in operation of all Metallurgy lab equipment
- Runs Abrasive cutter, Face Grinder, Mounting press and polisher
- Experience working with certified quality program (ISO 9001) is beneficial but not mandatory
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred
- 1 years of mechanical inspection working in a manufacturing environment
- Must understand blueprint reading and mechanical inspection methods
- Knowledge of SPC control and application to quality control plans
- Experience with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
- Working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine, Virtual Machine Manager, or any vision systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
- ASQ Certification is beneficial, but not mandatory
- Ability to multitask and adapt with new technology measurement equipment
- Work with GD&T drawings, specifications, inspection and department procedures
- High level of self-initiative.
