As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining payroll processes/administration security standards, guidelines and policies, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to generate and manage multi-state payrolls for the US and generate in-depth reports. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for secure record-keeping of payroll and ongoing updates of the HRIS system.Key Responsibilities
- Generate a weekly payroll for 500 multi-location employees.
- Oversee and manage the company's e-Timekeeping system.
- Ensure all withholdings, deductions and contributions are accurately performed and accounted for.
- Manage the timely distribution of paychecks and administration of the direct deposit program and pay cards.
- Verify and audit timekeeping records for compliance audits.
- Inspect automated payroll systems and correct any errors.
- Maintain payroll records in accordance with local, state and federal laws and company policy.
- Guide and mentor managers/supervisors in an effort to continually improve processes.
- Administer company 401k plan.
- Maintain updated knowledge of local, state, and federal governing payroll; interpret impact of changes and implements to ensure compliance.
- Recommend and make system enhancements, adjustments and the installation of upgrades to the automated time reporting, labor distribution and payroll systems.
- Suggest changes in operating procedures regarding workflow and scheduling to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Create and generate in-depth labor and time reports.
- Create and distribute weekly headcount report.
- Provide information requested by internal and external customers.
- Provide/produce monthly recap reports.
- Perform other payroll-related projects/duties as assigned
- Balance payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting teams.
- Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations.
- Support all audits related to payroll.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- BS degree in Accounting or Business related field or commensurate experience.
- APA certification or continuing courses highly desired
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a business setting processing multi-state payroll.
- Ability to use desktop/laptop computers and other related office equipment with 10-key by touch.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) as well as specialized payroll systems software. Preferred experience in ADP Workforce Now and Replicon.
- Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations, effectively use and maintain a variety of electronic filing systems and payroll records.
- Knowledge of advanced payroll practices and procedures including implementation of payroll systems
- Knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll regulations, accounting policies and procedures.
