What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista/Waitstaff position at Mimi's Cafe?
Mimi's Cafe is a small, local Victorian cafe and restaurant located in Historic Downtown Litchfield. As a small business, community support, excellent service and a welcoming team-oriented work environment are our highest priorities. Experience in the restaurant/coffee industry is preferred, but if you're willing to learn we're more than happy to be your first experience in this fast-paced, creative field!
All servers are given extensive training on our specialty drink menu, ranging from traditional French and Italian coffees to decorative sodas. As Front of House staff, we encourage you to become well-versed in drink making to provide a fun, personal experience for our customers.
Available working hours are currently Wednesday through Friday 7AM-2PM, Saturdays 7AM-4PM and Sundays 7AM-1PM. If you are looking for partial shifts during these times, our staff may be able to work around your schedule.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work in a warm, fast-paced environment
- Making specialty coffees, sodas, etc...
- Greet and seat customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and promptly
- Providing menu recommendations and answering questions about the menu
- Handling cash transactions and operating Square Point of Sale
- Maintaining cleanliness, stock and organization of the dining area
- Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Opening or Closing FOH (as needed per your shift hours)
