Marketing Communications Director


We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Marketing Communications Director to lead all marketing communications activities and processes. The director will set an overall marketing communications strategy to support the launch of the company’s first commercial products and adapt the strategy going forward as the company pursues new markets. S/he will develop, implement, and manage the execution of an effective marketing plan designed to achieve commercial objectives. S/he will have the intellectual capacity and curiosity to quickly learn new markets and prioritize actions as part of the overall go to market strategy. S/he will work very closely with the senior leadership team to drive marketing discipline and to support the execution of go to-market strategies.


Duties and Responsibilities:

 Develop marketing communications strategy and goals for each market segment the

company pursues.

 Create, then execute a digitally oriented marketing communications plan to support strategy

and goals.

 Manage overall marketing budget.

 Support sales enablement.

 Drive brand awareness.

 Identify appropriate external resources to assist with new company website and drive overall

development

 Work with team to develop core messaging and content to be used across a range of

applications including the company website, marketing collateral, sales presentations, and

other tools.

 Drive implementation of marketing technology tools and assist in implementation of CRM

tools.

 In cooperation with product group, sales, and company leadership, develop buyer personas.

 Develop SEO plan and implement.

 Manage overall company presence in social media including personal postings by company

leadership.

 Create and drive marketing campaigns with the appropriate marketing mix.

 Lead trade show and event planning.

 Create press releases, PR plan and maintain relationships with key influencers in the media.

 Develop model for account-based marketing as appropriate (market dependent).

 Work with sales to develop customer case studies and testimonials.

 Travel as necessary.


Qualifications:

 At least 8 years of technology marketing experience in one of the following verticals: medical

device, healthcare, education, agriculture, technology services, disinfection, or infection

control.

 Preference for experience with at least one early-stage company.

 Capable of complex problem solving, developing thoughtful go-to-market strategies.

 Analytical, data and customer insight driven approach to marketing is a requirement

including demonstrated fluency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint to drive effective

communication.

 Willingness to perform a range of strategic and tactical assignments in a highly

entrepreneurial and unstructured environment with competing priorities.

 Capable of succeeding in a highly collaborative environment using exceptional leadership

and communication skills.

 Experience creating a new category or successfully launching early entrant into a new

market.

 Ability to translate science into effective customer messaging for a new product category.

 Experience defining and launching new brand into multiple market verticals is preferred.

 SaaS business model experience is a plus.

 Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
