This is a hands-on role overseeing the month end close process, M&A integration and will serve as a primary contact for the annual audit. About The Role
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the financial operations of MindPlay Education. What You'll Do
- Oversee accounting operations, set goals and objectives, and design a plan for these to be met.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of transparent, accurate and timely financial results including financial statements, pro forma adjustments and MD&A.
- Provide leadership to attain a 5-day monthly close process as the company continues acquire and integrate acquisitions.
- Assist in ongoing improvements of Sage Intacct accounting system and build out of reporting functions.
- Serve as an agent of change for system improvements and technology automation.
- Analyze costs, pricing, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide detailed explanations for significant variances.
- Partner with VP of Finance on budgeting process.
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors and ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- Three to five years of accounting experience required. Private equity or growth-oriented experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Experience with integrated financial systems, including: ERPs, AP, Payroll, and CRMs.
- Sage Intacct experience, preferred.
- External financial statement audit.
- Entrepreneurial and a detail-oriented individual that thrives in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
