Manufacturing Associate
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for day-to-day dietary supplement manufacturing activities which include, but is not limited to, cleaning manufacturing and supporting equipment, setting up and operating packaging lines, setting up and operating encapsulation equipment, weighing and preparing raw materials, sampling raw materials, and setting up machines in production.
The primary responsibilities include; setting up and running the manufacturing and packaging lines. The Production Associate will be well-versed in 21 CFR 111/117 and associated SOPs and processes. They will be competent and possess the ability to juggle multiple competing demands and projects that enhance performance in a manner which incorporates the company’s vision and culture.
Position Responsibilities:
- Organizational:
- Read, understand, and follow all appropriate SOPs and procedures.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Read and interpret production schedules.
- Correctly prepare raw materials based on batch records.
- Complete all paperwork neatly and accurately.
- Set up and operate machines IAW SOPs and procedures.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly cleaning of all production areas.
- Verify labeled material is accurate.
- Provide general support to visitors, communicate with vendors, customers and colleagues.
- Prepare cleaning chemicals IAW written directions.
- Clean production equipment IAW appropriate SOPs.
- Stage raw materials needed for packaging.
- Set up and operate packaging equipment to operate as prescribed in associates SOPS and batch records.
- Set up and operate encapsulation equipment.
- Set up and operate blenders.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of production equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Tasks related to other job functions may be assigned with proper education, experience, or training.
Position Requirements:
- 3-5 Years of proven experience in dietary supplement or food manufacturing environment (21 CFR 111/117).
- Able to perform basic math functions to include ratios and decimals.
- Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced controlled environment with exceptional communication and organization skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in a controlled production environment. Light to moderate physical activity performing activities of a productive/technical nature. Ability to wear protective clothing for production work.
