Position: Tax Director

Location: USA | Bethlehem, PA

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Tax Director to lead the global inhouse income tax accounting function under ASC-740 and manage the financial reporting for the annual 10-K & quarterly 10-Q. In addition, this person will lead the review of global income tax compliance for the US federal, state local and US international jurisdictions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the global inhouse income tax accounting function under ASC-740
  • Manage the financial reporting for the annual 10-K & quarterly 10-Q
  • Lead the global income tax compliance for the US federal, state, local and US international jurisdictions
  • Directly involved in Tax Provision Software Implementation and Compliance
  • Interim and year-end tax provision (ASC 740) including managing calculations for uncertain tax positions (FIN 48)
  • Tax Footnote Disclosures
  • Assist with other tax related projects.

QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Accounting is required, Master of Taxation and/or CPA is a plus.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Must possess a minimum of 10 years of tax accounting experience. Strong “hands-on” knowledge in tax compliance and tax accounting. Strong understanding of ASC 740 including extensive experience with international tax provisions. Experience with Oracle/HFM a plus. Strong technology skills are required, including OneSource Tax Provision (or similar); Corptax (or similar) and Office 365 including Advanced Excel. Experienced with Valuation Allowance Calculation. Highly experienced with Foreign Income Tax Considerations. Experience with manufacturing companies a plus.

 

Must excel at assuming responsibility for tax processes from start to finish.  Must be a detail oriented, organized, efficient and proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities and complete work timely and accurately with minimal supervision.  Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills are a must to complete multiple assignments on a timely basis. Strong work-paper and documentation skills are desirable. Working knowledge of tax compliance software, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Hyperion/HFM, Oracle and Alteryx is a plus.

 

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, sitting at a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a personal computer, fax machine, copier and telephone, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, have the ability to work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times.

 

Constant contact with individuals internal and external to the organization occurs via various methods of communication, typically including face-to-face discussions, electronic mail, phone calls, written letters and/or faxes.

 

Work Hours: Must have the ability to work the number hours in which duties are to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.

 

Safety Training:  A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system.  Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.

 

Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
