Job Description
The Enrollment Advisor is to provide comprehensive enrollment advising to new and returning Minneapolis College students who come into or contact Student Services for assistance in the areas of registration, financial aid and student records. This position will focus specifically on resolving barriers that prevent students from enrolling in the college or returning to the college after an absence. This position will also respond to student inquiries, interpreting college policies and procedures and provide guidance on next steps.
Required Qualifications
Education and / or experience with advising, financial aid, student enrollment or higher education.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including listening, speaking, writing and the ability to deal tactfully with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and helpful manner.
Advanced knowledge/experience with using MS office, e-mail, internet and database products.
Public speaking skills and group presentation capability.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency, incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience with the Minnesota State student data system, ISRS
Knowledge of Minneapolis College policy, procedures, programs, curriculum, services and resources.
2 years’ experience in customer service or advising serving students across the functions of Admissions, Financial Aid, or Records/Registration or related areas
Experience working in a higher education setting
Evidence of ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Other Requirements
Must be in good standing with Minneapolis College for consideration.
