What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Plans Examiner (FT) position at Minnesota City Jobs?
This position exists to examine commercial plans and construction documents prior to construction to ensure they have been designed to the standards set forth within the Minnesota building, plumbing, mechanical, accessibility, and energy codes, including state statutes and city ordinances.
Additionally, the plans examiner reviews and approves design changes, responds to questions and complaints, interprets, explains, and provides guidance on codes to the public, contractors, design professionals, and collaborates with a team of inspectors, administration staff, including Planning, Fire, and Engineering departments.
