What are the responsibilities and job description for the Court Operations Supervisor - Freeborn County (Internal only) position at Minnesota Judicial Branch?
The Court Operations Supervisor leads operations on the Core Function Team and is responsible for the direct supervision of staff. This position is also responsible for day-to-day case related responsibilities, administering and enforcing all relevant policies, reviewing, evaluating, planning and streamlining daily functions.
This position is classified as a Court Operations Supervisor and is located in the Freeborn County Courthouse. Standard business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
This position is open internally to current Freeborn County employees only.The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform:
- Hire, coach, develop and evaluate the performance of staff; acting as an effective role model to staff.
- Plan, coordinate, supervise and review the functions and daily operations of staff on the team.
- Manage and respond timely and appropriately to day-to-day issues brought by judicial officers, staff, and justice partners.
- Perform case related work duties.
- Participate in county, district, and state committees.
- Analyze work processes and streamline procedures.
- Develop, recommend, and implement new policies and procedures to comply with current statutes and regulations as they pertain to the team.
- Interpret statutes, rules and orders and provide recommendations on procedural questions.
- Review operational reports and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in strategic planning for the team and implement plans where appropriate.
- Provide leadership on special projects as directed.
Any combination of education, training, and work experience which indicates the possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Education
- Graduation from an approved high school or vocational school
- At least 3 years of experience as a court operations associate, leadworker, or similar position and some supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Considerable knowledge of current court procedures and policies.
- Considerable knowledge of court and other software the team is required to use.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and main effective working relationship with others.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective and accurate work decisions in accordance with law, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze problems and to put into practice effective changes.
- Ability to train, motivate, coach, and supervise personnel.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member with minimal supervision.
