Job Description
Teach courses in lower level undergraduate electrical and computer engineering and technology programs.
  • A typical faculty workload responsibility may include up to twenty four (24) credits of instruction per academic year.


  • The successful candidate may need to teach in other areas as assigned and qualified.

  • May be expected to develop and deliver face-to-face, hybrid, and on-line instruction at the Mankato campus, online, and/or at the university’s additional locations, as assigned.

  • The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in curriculum design, instruction and evaluation, conduct research productively and mentor students in research, help create innovative strategies for student recruitment, retention, and completion, and may be expected to develop external grant funding opportunities.

  • All faculty members are expected to engage in scholarly or creative activity or research, in continuing preparation and study, in contributing to student growth and development, and in providing service to the university and community (See Article 22 and Appendix G of the IFO Master Agreement).

  • This position will advise undergraduate majors.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the area of microcontroller applications including interfacing and programming, digital system design, circuit theory, and electronics.

  • Responsible for increasing Enrollment and Retention of students.

  • Contribute to syllabus and curriculum development.

  • Participate in ECET Department activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.) and/or relevant tested experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering and Computer Technology.


  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience on electrical and computer engineering and technology engineering.

  • Demonstrated ability to serve a diverse population and apply an equity lens to
    this position including social justice and/or anti-racism.

About
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The ECET Department was founded in 1987–88 as an extension of the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology. The Department now has about 340 undergraduate students pursuing ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degrees – Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology. We also offer a Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) graduate degree and a discipline specific Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE). The ECET Department has eleven faculty members who focus on teaching and research.
