SUMMARY
Under general supervision, assists in the deployment, support, and implementation of hardware, software, and other technologies; works with Minot Public Schools (MPS) staff to resolve technology issues, and effectively use technology resources.

- Supports, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs hardware, software, peripherals, mobile digital devices, and other technologies for MPS Technology Department; performs work within scope of authority and training, and according to MPS policies and procedures; duties may vary according to job assignment and skill level.
- Installs, configures, and updates computer systems and technology equipment; provides technical support and training for users.
- Provides technical support for MPS system users; diagnoses problems, identifies and isolates errors, and implements technical solutions to solve problems.
- Responds to client/user inquiries and requests for support services.
- Maintains, updates, and troubleshoots problems on network systems and servers.
- Works with MPS staff to effectively use technology resources, resolve technology issues, integrate technology systems and equipment, and improve the use of technology resources.
- Provides implementation and integration support for a wide variety of technology resources.
- Facilitates and coordinates maintenance and repair projects.
- Documents all changes to technology systems.
- Maintains inventory of equipment, technical information, and technology resources.
- Researches technology products and integration strategies, and develops recommendations.
- Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; AND three years experience in technology support in a multiple network systems environment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with educational technology is desirable.
Knowledge of:
- MPS organization, operations, policies, and procedures.
- State and federal regulations governing technology functions in an educational environment, Software applications and operating systems used at MPS, including Microsoft OS and MAC OS.
- Principles and practices of technology management, system development, and systems integration in a government/educational environment.
- Principles and practices of network administration, access and security standards, troubleshooting techniques, and internet technical knowledgebase services.
- Principles and protocols for the management of MPS electronic information, including system access policies and data security protocols.
- Principles of record keeping, records management, and inventory control.
- Safety rules and regulations, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in work sites.
Skill in:
- Analyzing technology integration issues, evaluating alternatives, and developing recommendations.
- Solving technical problems involving integrated operating systems and hardware platforms.
- Responding professionally, effectively, and efficiently to customer service requests.
- Enforcing and maintaining technology security protocols and standards.
- Training staff in the use of technology.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within established procedural guidelines.
- Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in standard office and around MPS facilities; full manual dexterity and visual acuity are required to work in confined spaces and use precision tools and equipment; requires vision capacity to perform fine calibrations and differentiate between colored wires.
Salary : $50,700 - $64,200
