Full Job Description
As a Purchaser at The Mint Cannabis, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services necessary for our operations. You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure that products and services are acquired at the best possible terms and that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
As a Purchaser for the Mint, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and a mastery of negotiations. You will be in charge of vendor relations and management, so you must have experience in this area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong vendor relationships.
- Order Processing: Manage and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable terms, prices, and conditions.
- Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve disputes amicably.
- Cost Control: Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and make informed purchasing decisions that balance quality and price.
- Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels, and supplier interactions. Prepare and analyze procurement reports as needed.
- Collaboration: You will work directly with the purchasing manager in building vendor relationships
- Skills:
- Must be proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Experience reviewing items such as par levels, profit margins, etc.
- Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement or a similar role
- 1 Year of cannabis experience preferred
- Dutchie experience preferred
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of supply chain management, vendor relations, and market trends.
- Maintaining knowledge of market conditions as they pertain to pricing, service, and known product issues
- Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
