What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Team Lead position at Mintel?
We are looking for an additional Team Lead to work with Data Engineers based in the Chicago area. Working in partnership with existing Team Leads and managers, you will help our growth and expansion of the team to be successful by ensuring that software is delivered smoothly by our team, developers are supported, and our stakeholders are cared for.
Our teams work to build tools and data pipelines that safely, consistently and efficiently transform and enrich our data. Once enriched, data outputs include data staged for BI tool use, compiled and delivered to clients for custom integrations, or made available for syndicated web site outputs. By joining our data engineering team as a Team Lead you’ll help our personnel and diverse projects be even more successful.
In this role, you will:
- Help your team be successful - facilitate team meetings effectively, embracing Agile practices such as regularly removing impediments and encouraging continuous improvement
- Help grow your team - manage individual contributors on your team, assisting with effective training and growth while encouraging a supportive culture
- Help your stakeholders be successful - build strong relationships with stakeholders and encourage open communication and effective collaboration
- Provide a clear view into IT team progress - participate in demonstrating our outputs and contributing status information based on completion of a clear backlog of tasks
- Collaborate with managers and IT colleagues across the department - as we work together to share and improve our approach and practices
- And optionally (if you have a software development background) contribute to team technical work
What We’re Looking For:
- 3 years experience working with software development teams (as an individual contributor or team lead), with demonstrated experience helping others to be successful
- Experience in Agile delivery methodologies
- Excellent communication skills and experience facilitating discussions with technical and non technical colleagues
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
