Digital Bindery Operator

2nd Shift: 2:30 pm-11:00 pm, M-F. $16-$20 per hour

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

This position is responsible for operating or assisting in a print manufacturing environment with a focus on reduction in cost related errors, exceeding client expectation, and driving a safe workplace.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

•             Operate and maintain multiple pieces of bindery equipment.

•             Perform adjustments on machine per job instructions.

•             Meet and exceed production standards while maintaining customer quality requirements.

•             Communicate job status, production concerns, and machine issues.

•             Achieve level of competency for setting up machine, making adjustments to meet or exceed production     standards, and perform basic/preventive maintenance tasks.

•             Follow all safety policies and procedures.

•             Adhere to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

•             Troubleshoot problems with minimum delay time.

•             Develop a continuous improvement mindset towards equipment setup and operation.

•             Communicate problems to management and maintenance personnel and develop corrective actions to prevent.

•             Work with a high sense of urgency when equipment is down to get running so production requirements can be maintained or exceeded.

•             Continue learning new and improved processes to achieve increased production

•             Facilitate teamwork among team members and between shifts.

•             Perform all required first piece checks and inspections before running a job on any equipment

•             Perform required quality assurance checks when running jobs.

•             Perform equipment cleaning tasks on a daily basis.

•             Attend & participate in equipment operator meetings when required.

•             Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

•             High school diploma or GED required

•             Able to lift and move 50 pounds or more repeatedly

•             Willingness to work overtime when needed

•             Ability to apply written and verbal instructions for machine set-up and operation of equipment

•             Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with team members

•             Must demonstrate reliability through attendance, punctuality, and ability to stay in work area

•             Must be able to foster team cooperation

•             Experience is not required, but it is preferred, although we are willing to train those who are willing to learn
