What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Clerk position at Minuteman Press?
This position requires a self-driven, well organized Purchasing Clerk who can exercise decision making skills and time management with little supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Knowledge of purchase order system. QuickBooks knowledge is a plus. Room to grow - full time in the future is a strong possibility. This position supports the company with the responsibilities that are included below, but not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Quoting – receive quote request via email, obtain pricing via internet or telephone call, price with mark up. Return quote to customer with a 4 hour window from time email was sent.
- Purchasing – use computer and telephone to place orders with vendors, establish relationships with vendors for discount pricing
- Filing – keep all files and paperwork organized and filed for future reference. Box old records to be archived
- Shipping – ability to lift 50 pounds
- Use of hand cart to move packages
- Use shipping cart to move packages from table to shipping-slide rather then lifting up and down from ground
- Other duties, as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must be customer driven with a positive attitude, show accountability and professionalism
- Data entry skills ability to type 40 wpm with accuracy and speed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects and adapt to changing deadlines without losing attention to details
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Work collaboratively with your team members
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
