Manufacturer looking to hire a full time, direct hire Fabrication Manager. This department handles various metal fabrication including cutting, machining, stretch-forming, assembly and other value-added activities for structural, automotive, ornamental and other products.300 employee operation, non-union, 24/7 operations

Ideal Skills:

5 years of experience needed
Bachelor's degree preferred
This role will have 5 direct and 100 indirect reports
Need a strong mentor and leader who can help develop current employees
Must have some metal fabrication experience, CNC machining is the main process
Tier 1 automotive experience would be a huge plus

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Fosters our dual bottom-line philosophy by leading and demonstrating a culture of safety excellence and engaging employees in behavior-based safety initiatives
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, and evaluating all shifts for the Fabrication team
  • Directly and indirectly leads the department through Supervisors across multiple shifts, thereby optimizing performance
  • Monitoring business goals and metrics, executing the business plan and meeting key metrics such as safety, profitability and sales volume
  • Provides operational leadership ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Develops and implements operating methods to improve quality production along with internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating and maintenance issues while improving product quality
  • Responsible for developing subordinates, increasing their overall performance and enhancing their future growth
  • Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of department
  • Reviews monthly financials, analyzes results, and develops strategies to increase profitability
  • Prepares annual operational budget, ensuring accuracy while establishing required resources and planning necessary to achieve sales and profitability targets
  • Key management representative that ensures departmental compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and our IATF 16949 certification
  • Coordinate with other locations to develop business opportunities
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes in use of equipment to increase efficiency
  • Works with outside processors to manage the production and quality of those processors to meet the customer demands and requirements
  • Actively participate in safety training, insuring compliance to company and OSHA regulations
  • Manages Fabrication Supervisors across all shifts and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation and performance of this unit
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws: these include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment for the employees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Columbiana, OH: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)

Experience:

  • Leadership: 5 years (Preferred)
  • CNC Machining: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Tier 1 Automotive: 1 year (Preferred)
