We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Wellness Assistant to work with the Wellness Coordinator to implement wellness activities including campus-wide special events and fitness activities.

Summary :

You will assist the Wellness Coordinator with organizing and implementing wellness activities including campus-wide special events and fitness activities, program planning and training volunteers.

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality of life for all residents is enhanced through the execution of quality and diversified wellness activities.

Wages : $18.00 - $20.00 / hr DOE

How you'll do it :

• Continuously assess personal fitness abilities of residents and share insights with Wellness Coordinator.
• Assist with individual resident assessments and / or personal training as directed by the Wellness Coordinator.
• Assist Wellness Coordinator with creating programs of interest for residents.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with residents, vendors and internal / external customers.
• Assist with orienting residents to the fitness room and equipment, aquatic center and its rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Exhibit skillset to train residents to properly use wellness equipment, perform aquatic exercises, yoga, and various other physical activities.

About You :

• Experience in fitness, physical therapy, physiology and anatomy, recreation therapy, clerical office work, or related field.
• Associate of bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical fitness, physical education, personal training, or a related field is preferred.
• Current CPR / AED, First Aid, and professional rescuer certifications. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate is preferred.
• Working knowledge of fitness room equipment and exercise machines, ability to safely assist residents.
• Knowledge of aqua-aerobics, core strengthing, weight training, Zumba, general fitness activities.
• Experience with the elderly population is preffered.
