Position Summary:
The Construction Project Manager III position is located in Billings, MT, and is responsible for customer satisfaction and overall project management of multiple design and construction projects, including the design and construction of projects and renovation of government space within existing buildings. Assigned Capital projects are primarily those estimated to be in the multi-millions but under the prospective level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall management of construction projects from the preliminary planning stages through design, construction, commissioning, and building occupancy.
- Responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating, reviewing and approving design, construction, and other related work.
- Ability to establish a scope of work with a customer, prepare a government estimate using federal estimating software, manage a project schedule, procure services with a government contract specialist, from contractors, and from architect/engineering firms.
- Acts as the on-site construction manager or inspector for projects performing day-to-day construction management duties.
Your Experience:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferred) or a relevant discipline and/or ten (10) or more years of experience in design and management of construction projects.
- May be required to travel in conjunction with site visits and progress reviews on project locations.
- May be required to attend National, Regional, and local conferences, meetings, and seminars.
- Ability to resolve highly complex problems or conflicts that impede project progress.
- Ability to work under pressure, including dealing with constraints that are outside of your control (resources, time), handling difficult tasks or having insufficient knowledge required to complete said tasks, as well as handling unforeseen changes or problems.
- Ability to ensure contractors and agency staff work effectively toward timely completion of projects and within budget.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse team consisting of the customer, contract specialist, contractor, financial manager, and other stakeholders.
