Misha’s Kind Foods is a dairy-free, completely plant-based food and lifestyle company. We make Real Cheese... without the dairy, and are the market leader in the dairy-free cheese world in terms of taste and quality. Our products are sold in several local farmers markets, and a growing number of local retailers, including Erewhon Markets, Wholefoods, Mother’s Markets, Pantry LA and many others, we’re sold in roughly 50 retail locations across Southern California.
Head Chef Intern:
Misha’s Kind Foods Head Chef is looking for 2 interns. This is an unpaid, at-will internship. Your expected time commitment for this intern position is 15 - 25 hours per week. Your internship hours meet requirements for all college internship programs. This is the perfect position if you are interested in food manufacturing, commercial food prep, project management and learning all aspects of culinary arts as a business.

At-Will Internship Description:
Your primary responsibilities will be in the kitchen with the Head Chef and his team. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Create spreadsheets and draft documents pertaining to kitchen and inventory management
- Keep running track of inventory
- Place orders with our Operations Manager
- Organize and maintain of dry, cold and freezer storage
- Production labeling and dating
- Supply pickup when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen during production
- Breakdown and clean equipment
- Communicate with other department interns and Dept Heads on behalf of the Head Chef
Requirements:
- Access to a desktop or laptop computer, and working WiFi
- Must respond to emails or text in a timely fashion during business hours
- Maintain professionalism while corresponding with Misha’s team and customers
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suits
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, must bring your A game
- Must be a self-starter, able to think outside the box and on your feet in a swiftly moving environment
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be available during production days
- Valid Food Handler Certification
- No Experience Required, be open to learning
- Keep track of your hours
