About the Position:

The Mississippi Department of Finance & Administration is seeking a Client Support Technician II for the Office of Information Technology. This position will provide technical support for issues escalated from Tier 1. Those issues may vary from simple to the more complex but incumbents at this level handle issues of moderate complexity. The primary focus will be on understanding the issue to be resolved, prioritizing assignments independently, solving disruptions and problem solving within the defined scope of Tier 2 standards and protocols. Escalates calls to a higher level of support within given time guidelines. The primary duties will include supporting the installation and operation of hardware, software, and audio and visual equipment. Additional duties will include IT customer support and training for end-users.

What you'll need to be Successful:

Incumbents at this level handle technical issues with a moderate complexity, frequently independently. This position requires experience in hardware and software setup, system administration, maintenance and troubleshooting, and end-user support. Professional experience with Windows operating systems, MS Office Suite and Office 365, PC and Apple hardware are required. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and being highly detail-oriented and analytical are required. This is a customer-facing position and direct professional experience supporting IT hardware and software for clients is a must.

Qualifications:

Typically requires a high school diploma or high school equivalency and relevant technical knowledge, an understanding of office automation and office systems operating environments and/or complex communication devices and 1-3 years of end user support experience. A two-year or four-year degree from an accredited institution in an IT discipline and at least one year of applicable professional experience directly supporting office automation, desktops, laptops, operating systems, networked devices, and software is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,160.00 - $49,358.40 per year
