POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Camp Site Director/Summer Day Camp Site Director, this position assists in all aspects of the said program, including acting as Site Director in his/her absence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
6. In the absence of the Site Director, the Assistant Director/Director Designee is responsible for:
7. Organizes or participates in Y activities, such as committees, special events, and fundraising.
8. Drives YMCA vehicles to ensure the program operates when driver(s) are out during a program day.
9. Assists with childcare programs at other YMCA locations as requested. Completes and submits mileage reimbursement form for temporary assignment at other locations to supervisor.
10. Abides by and follows the Y’s Dress Code and models appropriate behavior expected of YMCA Childcare Services team members.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required trainings within 90 Days: Y-USA Online Trainings: Introduction to The Y’s Cause and Culture, Foundations of Listen First, Orientation to Diversity, Inclusion & Global; MSDH Trainings: Health & Safety Regulation, Playground Regulation, Camp Regulation, Director’s Orientation 1 & 2, Childcare Regulations 1 & 2.
5. Must obtain a minimum of 15 hours of Continuing Education Units as required by the Mississippi Department of Health yearly.
6. Possess the ability to create and work in a Christian environment so that each camper has the opportunity for spiritual growth and to further the mission and values of the YMCA (Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.)
7. Begin training process to obtain an appropriate CDL Bus license with endorsements to transport children to and from program activities or evacuation locations within the first 2 months of employment. Obtains appropriate CDL Bus license within first 9 months of employment. Maintains CDL license and driving record that meets YMCA Insurance guidelines and requirements on an annual basis.
