The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the hotel while delivering exceptional guest experience. Assisting the General Manager with overseeing daily hotel operations, supervising staff, and assisting in various administrative and managerial tasks. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
· Support the General Manager in daily hotel operations and assist the operational and financial management of Food & Beverage and Rooms Division
Manage performance for operations department heads and formally hold accountable when performance expectations are not being consistently met.
Ensure hotel is in compliance with all brand standards and perform periodic quality assurance audits.
Oversee operations departments; Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Housekeeping and Front Office.
Review financial statements and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
Conduct operations meetings, ensure staffing levels and department operations support business needs.
Solicit feedback for continuous improvement and implement career paths to develop managers, supervisors and line level staff.
Assist with addressing and resolving employee relation issues.
Support with resolving guest related complaints.
Review and respond to guest survey feedback and assist operations managers with implementing action steps to increase guest survey scores and minimize reoccurring guest related issues.
Perform all operational property duties in the absence of the General Manager
What are we looking for?
An Assistant General Manager is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
At least three (3) years experience as a hotel Director of Food and Beverage, Assistant General Manager or General Manager in full-service hotel preferred.
Previous rooms division management experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities to anticipate, identify, prevent and solve guest and employee related issues.
Hilton/OnQ experience highly preferred.
Flexible availability to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
