What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of Biology position at Missouri Valley College?

The School of Science & Agriculture at Missouri Valley College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2024. This position is a full-time, renewable, and non-tenure track appointment.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
  • Must be able to teach Botany, Dendrology, and Plant Taxonomy. Teaching entry level courses like Principles of Biology, and non-laboratory courses such as Environmental Science, is also expected.
  • Faculty members are responsible for curriculum, teaching, service, scholarship, and related administrative activities that support the mission, values, and goals of the college.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Botany, Plant Sciences, Plant Physiology, or related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Biology required.
  • Ph.D. in Botany or related field is preferred.
  • College-level teaching experience preferred.
Collegiality, professionalism, and a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the college mission are also necessary qualifications.
