Position Objective:
This position is responsible for both warehouse and inside sales responsibilities. The position will use a variety of equipment to accomplish this objective such as: Forklift (training available), hand truck, multiline phone system as well as computer systems. The position is responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and equipment. The upmost attention to detail and safety will be required to maintain quality standards and ensure that the equipment is kept in proper running order. Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to customers, outside sales, and operations teams throughout all MLS locations. The position will report to the Parent Branch Manager in Santa Maria. This position is located in Bakersfield, CA.
Essential Functions:
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Daily shipping and receiving including processing packing slips, receiving purchase orders, stocking shelves, pulling parts for shipment following pick list, preparing product for shipment.
- Load and unload products from delivery trucks following shipping and receiving guidelines
- Answer incoming phone calls, disburse messages, manage email flow
- Use the ERP system to check stock, check pricing, enter or update orders and receive products (training provided)
- Responsible for submitting sales orders and production tickets for invoicing
- Build strong, effective working relationships with staff at all locations.
- Other duties as assigned: Including deliveries.
- Pump and motor assembly when needed (training available).
- Effectively communicate with office and field staff to ensure understanding and solutions to resolve issues as they arise.
- Process pick tickets and returns with approval from parent branch (training provided)
- Preparing return goods authorization forms
- Monitor inventory and perform cycle counts
- Effectively manage time to complete non-reoccurring and on-going projects.
- Build positive and effective relationships with customers
- Work effectively within a team and independently to complete tasks on time with high quality outcomes
- Act as a liaison with customers and internal staff.
- May need to work Saturdays as requested by branch manager.
Experience and Abilities Required:
- Experience in agricultural pumping, residential pumping, or industrial pumping is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft office suite at an intermediate level.
- Experience working with rotating equipment, liquid pumps, and motors preferred.
- Organized and excellent attention to detail, flexible and efficient.
- Ability and desire to learn and utilize new knowledge effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 35lbs regularly, up to 75lbs occasionally.
- Ability to work Independently and in a team setting
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- 0-10% travel may be needed.
Education required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
