Our Client, Consists of two operating groups, is seeking a National Estimating Manager

Location: Matawan, NJ

Position Type: IT Full Time

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Essential duties may vary according to region, division, area, and/or assignment. Other duties may be assigned.

Manage the National Estimating Department in accurately establishing estimates for the Homebuilding Operations and local business units nationwide.

Apply the Company's visions, pledges, and guiding principles to every facet of responsibilities in an effort to improve our Company.

Develop estimating methodologies to be used across the company.

Develop appropriate tracking mechanisms for material/unit validation.

Quantity Take Off (QTO) maintenance and setup.

Manage regional takeoff differences for nationwide plan catalog.

Manage base house and option take-offs for new plans and communities.

Work with Architecture team on plan redlines needed to facilitate accurate take-offs.

Identify changes to specifications, drawings or other information affecting takeoffs.

Deliver timely and accurate takeoffs/quantities to business units as required.

Monitor Extra Purchase Orders for takeoff extras and validate/update takeoffs as needed.

Project coordination related to all Estimating related activities.

Develop consistent procedures for Estimator(s) to follow when performing takeoffs and recording take-off data.

Guide team on value engineering practices.

Conduct weekly team meeting in order to appropriately communicate and delegate workflow.

Manage workflow and deadlines for Estimating team members.

Primary liaison with construction field teams for take-off related issues.

Create and present reports to Sr. Management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; completing Associate performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure that all new direct reports participate in the Company's onboarding program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an Associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to read and understand architectural documents, structural documents, and building code. The ability to use digitizers and other take-off tools is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years estimating experience; equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Proficiency in spreadsheet creation, analysis and design.

Experienced and knowledgeable on estimating tools and methods such as digitizers and various software.

Organization, attention to detail, communication, and reasoning skills.

Knowledge and experience in JD Edwards a plus.

Knowledge and experience in PlanSwift a plus.

Knowledge and experience in Simpson Pipeline a plus.

Knowledge and experience in BIM software a plus.

Must be a critical thinker and problem solver.

Ability to follow established Company safety procedures.

Ability to meticulously review construction drawings with an emphasis on detailed analysis and comprehension.

Thorough understanding of residential framing methodology and the ability to visualize real world installation/application from two-dimensional frame and engineering drawings.

Have a broad understanding of building and purchasing practices.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
