Mitchell Tees & Signs, Inc. is looking to add individuals to our production team. We are currently seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team. The Press Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining Heat Transfer Vinyl jobs to produce high-quality products efficiently. We are a provider of custom decorated apparel, vinyl, promotional products, and more. Qualifications
- Previous experience in a print shop is preferred.
- Proficient in using screen printing equipment and tools.
- Knowledge of different types of inks and materials used in screen printing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to effectively navigate a mobile device and software programs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to stay on your feet for 8 hours each day.
- Must be able to consistently lift boxes up to 25lbs. on a daily basis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent color perception and ability to match colors accurately.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity for handling materials and operating machinery.
Responsibilities
- Operate screen printing equipment to decorate designs on various materials.
- Prepare screens or machines and mix inks to achieve desired colors and effects.
- Set up and adjust machines according to job specifications.
- Load and unload materials onto the printing machine.
- Inspect decorated products for quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with the production process.
- Clean and maintain equipment and work area.
- Be accountable to the Print Supervisor and company guidelines.
- Hours: 7:30AM - 4:00PM or 8:00AM-4:30PM (Monday-Friday)

Tasks
- Maintain equipment and materials
- Complete imprints as assigned by the Print supervisor and Quality control team.
- Clear assignments daily
- Maintain a clean work area. Leave the facility cleaner than you found it each day.
- Make sure all equipment, switches, and valves are off at the end of your shift.
Processes
- Confirm your imprint and verify you are in possession of all corresponding screens and garments.
- Identify your inks and set your screens up based on the production worksheet assigned to your imprint.
- Update production to "Setup & First Run" when you begin the setup process.
- Make sure that inks are not cold and that boards are clean.
- Once your job is setup successfully, verify a test print for design accuracy.
- Once you have verified a test print, proceed with a first print that Quality Control will mark "Approved & In Progress" once they confirm imprint accuracy.
- After printing a job, clean squeegees and flood bars using a scrape card to put the ink back into the bucket and cover the bucket.
- Ink buckets should be covered at all times and clean from any ink on the bucket or shelf.
- If you are not saving the screen then remove the tape and ink, and put in in the area to be reclaimed (stripped and cleaned to be coated).
- Wipe down quickly any ink on the print head with a rag and WD-40 silicone spray.
- Keep ink buckets off of the flash units and presses.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Any working task that is asked of you by management or supervisor.
