SummaryResponsible for prioritizing and managing work orders for the work centers assigned. This includes monitoring and releasing MRP generated production requirements, service part production requirements and prioritizing the work orders through a work center. The role works closely with the production supervisors to prioritize work on the shop floor and must be proficient in QAD production planning transactions.Job Responsibilities & Requirements- Able to work efficiently in QAD to release work orders based on MRP planned orders, new customer service orders or firm planned orders within a planning horizon.
- Print released work orders, pick lists and drawings and distribute to the manufacturing area to complete the work, providing prioritization of work as needed based on business priorities.
- Interface with manufacturing personnel, material handling, customer service, purchasing, logistics and supervision on work order status, production planning and inventory levels.
- Issue inventory to work orders.
- Receive inventory produced and close work orders.
- Able to ensure accuracy and completeness of work by paying attention to details regarding information of products and inventory control plans.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies in transactional vs physical work order activity pertaining to the issue, receipt, and completion of work orders.
- Participate in inventory activities such as cycle counts and year-end inventory.
- Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but, is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and/or Experience: Associates Degree; or 1-4 years related experience and/or training in production control function; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues.Read and interpret documents such as sales orders, production schedules, shipping documents, etc. Write routine reports and correspondence. Developed strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skills.
- Mathematical Skills: Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and to draw/interpret graphs.
- Computer Skills: Strong skills and knowledge of internet software and MS Software (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP/MRP systems.
