SummaryThe Software Product Manager will lead a complex project or product for various software solutions. There will be a focus on overseeing all aspects of a software product or area of offerings for MiTek. MiTek's software solutions allow customers in the residential and commercial construction industry the ability to optimize their business workflow, design, and production of homes and commercial spaces.This individual is a key player in leading the discovery of what customers need while figuring out how our product would be used and how it could be significantly improved. Strong ability to grasp customer problems, define generic requirements for solutions to be implemented to meet those requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and assure the implemented solutions meet the requirement.
The Software Product Manager will also act as the subject matter expert within this team and provide recommendations within a customer job area, product, or technology.
Candidates who are based near our locations in Chesterfield, MO, Denver, CO or Mission Viejo, CA will work a hybrid schedule of remote and in-office work.Job Responsibilities & RequirementsResponsibilities:
Leads the delivery of successful outcomes for complex software projects across the software development life cycle to a deadline
Participates in the creation of the vison, plans and delivery for a major subsystem in a complex product or complex project
Assists in aligning cross functional teams to the vision and translating that vision into results
Oversees and owns Backlog maintenance of their product and/or projects
Oversees and develops user stories / requirements for project and product needs
Owns and creates vision planning for projects and/or subset of product
A contributor of innovation for at least one constituent
Knowledgeable of the state of the art of solutions within a constituent
Recommends improvements to processes and procedure that deliver improvements to the business both internally and externally
Leads discovery and ongoing customer exchanges
Establishes Go to Market Value for a product or project
A specialist in the customer operations of a constituent
Develops and executes market strategy for a product or project
Act as the go-to resource within the Product Management organization for either a customer job area or product/technology within the business space
Common involvement with Mentorship within various aspects of the Product
Occasional Supervisorial needs could be required for this role
Oversees and drives complex project timing and dependencies either personally or working with a project manager
Oversees and drives multi constituent and/or Product project timing and dependencies
Work across various global time zones as needed
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working in a software development environment
Knowledgeable of Product Management methodologies and their application
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with customers, technical staff, non-technical staff, business stakeholders and senior leadership
Ability to foster deep relationships with new and existing people with a variety of personality types
A passion for learning new technologies, and brainstorming broad applications or ideas with a wide range of stakeholders and customers
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.)
5-8 years of product management experience highly preferred
Industry knowledge and background of Light Framed Wood Construction (multi-story) preferred
Engineer of Record or Revit Drafting experience highly preferred; experience with Revit Import/Export preferred
General knowledge of building and construction
Familiarity with software development environments like C# or Visual Basic .NET
